| Final Fantasy VIII Experience Levels |
The leveling up system is very unique, and different from other Final Fantasy games, firstly, to gain a level, you only need to obtain 1000 EXP. This remains the same throughout the game, also as you level up, so do your enemies! So an enemys difficulty, HP, Attack power etc, will be determined on your current level.
This system is made yet even more unique, with the Junction system, allowing you to junction magic, (which you can draw from enemies, or find at draw points found all over the world) to your stats, you can use this to your advantage and raise your stats, whilst still keeping your levels low, meaning enemies will remain low level, as will bosses!
Guardian Forces also level up in Final Fantasy VIII they rely on you having them junctioned to a character, and gaining AP (Ability Points). As they gain levels, they learn new abilites, these abilites can then be used by the character who has the Guardian Force junctioned. When a Guardian Force is summoned often by the same character, it will take less time for the character to call the GF.
